When a bowl of cereal isn't going to be enough to set you up for the day, a fry up might be the answer. But is there a difference between the “full English“ and the “full Scottish“? How do you know which one to go for?
A British institution, the standard ingredients in a full English breakfast include bacon, egg, sausage, fried or grilled tomato, mushrooms and beans. Fried eggs are typical, but you could also have scrambled or poached for a bit of variety. You'll usually also get some toast on the side, and there's a fierce debate about whether to have tomato or brown sauce!
In a full Scottish can expect all the staples of a full English, but you will also see some regional favourites such as black pudding, haggis, square sausage, tattie scones and sometimes even fruit pudding.
